Before

Lost, overwhelmed, stuck in bad habits, failed to meet family’s and society's expectations. That was me. But just like you i knew i wanted to do better. That is all you need. From my experience that is what got me to where i am today. I didn't know where to start so i started with myself, i began to improve my health and mindset. i began to solve pain points in my life. I broke free from bad habits, through the desire of wanting to improve my health. I stopped worrying about what my family and society thought of me because i knew that would limit my personal growth as it was pushing me toward goals that didn't align with me. I prioritised my own path. one thing led to the next. I didn't know it at the time but i was educating myself, i needed knowledge in order to improve because the knowledge i had prior wasn't doing me any good. The most improvement happened when i took the knowledge i gained and applied it to something. For instance, learning about how to make a workout plan and making one or learning what foods are nutrient dense and eating them. These are examples within the domain of health. I was definitely improving in a important aspect of my life but i was still lost in the sense of not know my passions or purpose. I began by following my curiosity. when your lost its very easy to get pulled in different directions. I tried so many things but it’s through trial and error where you find what you like and don’t like. I was in a trap of gaining so much knowledge and taking notes while consuming educational content, the problem was i never applied it.

After

When i used to play video games I’d hop right out of bed in the morning due to the excitement of being able to play my game. 2 years ago i quit, as i knew it was a habit that was holding me back. I haven't felt that desire to get out of bed in the morning in a long time up until a little less the a year ago when i started to apply my knowledge into projects such as this one. Spreading the awareness of self education and helping others with my experience within it. Now just like when i played video games I hop right out of bed in the morning eager to do meaningful work. Through learning and application I've discovered my passions, found my purpose, and have a strong sense of direction. I’m no longer lost due to self education.

I give thanks to self education for where i am today. I strongly believe it has the power to transform your life just like it has mine. If your lost or overwhelmed just like i was i encourage you to just start by following your curiosity. A important lesson in my experience is to apply what you know or the knowledge you gain into a project. This is where the real growth happens. Knowledge that isn’t put into action is wasted. Take your future into your own hands through self education. And soon you too will be hop out of bed in the morning with the excitement of meaningful work.
