Alignment

Burn out is real.

We’ve both burned out before.

I know why…

It’s because our actions didn’t align with our vision.

If you’re reading this, we have one thing in common, our vision is to be great fathers one day.

The Truth

Like it or not, you’ve already been preparing for fatherhood. Your actions all contribute to the type of Dad you will become.

The difference between us is that I’ve been doing it intentionally.

I’ve come to the realisation there’s little preparation for fatherhood this early.

So what I’ve done is align my current actions with my vision.

This is what it looks like:

  • I eat well to have the energy for my future kids.

  • I work out to be able to protect my future family.

  • I work long and hard to be able to provide for them.

The cool part about all of this is that doing hard shi becomes easy when you know WHY you’re doing the shi.

Get More Specific

Those are the basics, but you can also get more detailed to tailor your actions to your exact vision…

For example, if you wish to play songs for your kids, then practice the guitar more. Now that you have a reason to, it’ll be easier to pick it up.

Going back to my past letter where we determined what we liked and disliked about our parents, for example, I liked it when my father really listened to me, so I’m practising active listening.

The Vision

If you’re not clear on the father you want to be, start with the basics like eating well to have energy for them.

In an upcoming letter, I will show you how I determined the kind of Dad I wish to become. So you can use the same process I did.

May the Creator favour you.
